Name three speakers who have inspired
you. Tony Robbins, whose tapes I have listened to since I was 11 years old; Sean
Stephenson, a great speaker and a great
friend; and all my college speaker mentors
who shaved years off my learning curve:
James Malinchak, Patrick Combs, Deanna
Latson, Susan Leahy, Jonathan Sprinkles, Paul
Wesselmann, Gary Tuerack and Ed Gerety,
CSP. Did I honor the rule of three?
What are your career goals for the next
five years? While I am wifeless and childless
I’d like to get my calendar up to 100 gigs a
year before scaling back. As a writer at
heart, I will continue writing books. I simply
love the process of stringing words together.
And I’d like to speak internationally. Although
systems, tax laws and customs are different
I’d love the chance to help young people
outside the United States.
What keeps you going? How do you stay
motivated? The surprises. Waking up to find
out I lost X thousand dollars on a presentation I lost. Two days later someone orders
200 books. I’ll go to a school where they tell
me typically only about 15 students show
up and 150 show up. And then I’ll get an e-mail from someone in Scotland who read
my book and loved it. Good bad or ugly, I
can’t wait to see what is next.
