NEWS FROM HEADQUARTERS
Reported by Stacy Tetschner, cAE
NSA Executive Vice President/cEo
Letter to the Editor
I’m a stress management counselor, yoga therapist and spokesperson living in
NYC. In this fast-paced world which bombards us with “to do” tips on all aspects
of modern life, it was refreshing to read Betsy Buckley’s article, “Looking Back to
Move Forward” (July/August issue), which is filled with timeless wisdom. After all,
if one can’t be in the moment, then no amount of “doing” will ever bring satisfaction. As technology continues to outpace human “be-ing,” it becomes even more
important to remember how to be still.
—Jaymie Meyer, New York, N. Y.
Wedding Bells for Ben and Betsy
Decked in traditional Colonial garb, Benjamin Franklin and Betsy Ross exchanged
wedding vows in a public ceremony at Independence Hall in Philadephia, Pa., on
July 3. In reality, NSA member Ralph Archbold, the city’s nationally recognized
Ben Franklin re-enactor, fell in love with Linda Wilde, who often portrays Betsy
Ross, and they decided to tie the knot. True to character, their rings are engraved
with a kite and key and stars and stripes.
