letters to the Editor
I like Jim Canterucci’s suggestions in his
“Call for Backup” article (April 2009 issue),
and would like to amplify them. Yes, off-site or online backup is important, and
JungleDisk is one of dozens of such products. It is also very important to keep a
backup of data on an external drive that
is not located in your office. Many years
ago, there was a fire in my office building.
Luckily, nothing in my office was damaged
because my backups were sitting on my
desk right next to my computers!
—David Strom, St. Louis, Mo.
I’d like to offer my sincerest thanks and
appreciation to those NSA members
who have contributed to the Cigar PEG’s
Emergency Relief Fund to assist John
Alston, CSP, CPAE, in his extended recovery
from a brain tumor removal last August.
Your financial support—$23,000 as of
April 10—has made a huge difference to
the Alstons.
