Speaker magazine is the winner of the esteemed gold award for “General Excellence” in
Association Media & Publishing’s Annual EXCEL Awards competition, which attracted
more than 1,100 entries in 12 main categories. General Excellence encompasses content,
writing, graphic design and overall packaging. Three consecutive issues (October,
November and December 2010) were submitted to show consistent excellence.
The March 2010 issue of Voices of Experience (VOE) won a silver award for a podcast,
under the leadership of 2010-11 VOE chair Gerard Braud. For more information, visit

Grants Available
NSA’s grant program assists members
who cannot afford the full cost of professional development and continuing
education through NSA’s educational
meetings. Ten registration grants are
available for the 2011 NSA Convention.
The applicant must have been a member
of NSA for a minimum of one year as of
the date of application. To complete an
application, visit NSAFoundation.org.
Application deadline: June 17.
NSA Foundation Picnic with the Stars
The Foundation invites Convention
attendees to a picnic to support the NSA
Foundation and speakers in need. Boot-scoot over to the Foundation Event during
your two-hour break on Sunday, July 31,

Art Berg Grant Recipient
The Art Berg Fund provides grants
to 501(c) 3 groups in which an NSA
member actively volunteers in a tech-nology-related project that enhances
communication to benefit clients of the
non-profit organization. This year’s
grant recipient is Donna Cutting and
Second Wind Dreams®, an international non-profit organization that
enhances the quality of life for those
living in elder care communities. For
