1. Topic: Your choice. Submit your concept of
a best marketing practice according to the list
on the facing page.
2. Only original submissions will be considered.
Please do not submit an article that has been
published elsewhere.
3. Word count, excluding author biography:
2,500 maximum, including sidebars.
4. Formatting:
a. Please submit your article as a Word
document using 12 pt. Times New Roman.
Do not use any fancy formatting or fonts.
b. Set one-inch margins around page.
c. Double space text.
d. Text should be flushed left, ragged right.
e. Use paragraph indention.
f. Title your submission. Use bold text,
upper and lower case. Do not use all
capital letters.
g. Subheads: Use bold text, upper and lower
case. Do not use all capital letters.
h. Do not use footnotes. Cite your source of
information within the paragraph text; for
example: “according to a survey by XYZ
Corporation” or “based on research by
ABC Inc.”
i. Do not use hyperlinks for URLs and
email addresses.
5. Please include a short (one small paragraph) bio,
including your preferred email address and website.
6. Submissions will be edited to comply with NSA
style guidelines and will not be returned to chapter authors for final review and approval.
7. Illustrations: If your chapter has images (charts,
grids, graphs, etc.), please include them as a separate attachment(s) pasted into a Word document.

COPYRIGHT
The work you submit must be your original creation.
You will be asked to sign a statement attesting to
that fact. You will release your work to NSA for
distribution and sale while still retaining the rights
of your original work.
Selected authors who contribute their work to NSA
will not be paid for their chapter. Authors will be
acknowledged in the book with their name, brief
biography and contact details.
DESIGN AND DISTRIBUTION
DESIGN: The final book will be soft cover with
roughly 30 chapters.
DISTRIBUTION: The final book will be distributed
through online channels, as well as brick-and-mortar
outlets. It will be sold at NSA events and events
where NSA exhibits. Cover price to be determined.
REVIEW AND SELECTION
All submissions will be forwarded to a team of
volunteer reviewers, drawn from both inside and
outside of the NSA membership, for final selection.
Selected chapter submissions must be well
written, and will candidly and intelligently provide
instructions on applying proven strategies for
marketing a speaking business.
