Cavett Award Nominations
Nominations are being accepted for the 2012 Cavett Award, the highest honor that
can be bestowed on a member by fellow peers. The award is presented at the Annual
Convention to the member whose accomplishments over the years have reflected
outstanding credit, respect, honor and admiration on NSA and the entire speaking
profession, and whose actions most closely parallel the illustrious career of NSA founder

TABLET?
In the March Relevant Resources
column, NSA members were surveyed
regarding their preferences in laptops
and tablets. Apple was the hands-down
favorite in both categories. Other
survey highlights: 97% of respondents
use a computer to write documents,
while only 3% use tablets. 77% percent
of members prefer to access their email
via a desktop computer, compared to
a tablet (15%) or a smartphone (8%).
79% respondents access the Web via
a computer versus a tablet (15%) or a
smartphone (6%). (n=86)
2012 Convention Registration
Grants Available
NSA’s grant program assists members
who cannot afford the full cost of professional development and continuing
education by attending NSA’s educational
meetings. Ten registration grants are
available for the 2012 NSA Convention.
Applicants must be a member of NSA
for a minimum of one year as of the date
