CELEBRATING AND EMBODYING THE
BELIEFS UPON WHICH NSA WAS FOUNDED
Organizations, big or small—for profit or not for
profit, are built and sustained on values. Often
those values emanate from an organization’s founders. NSA is a perfect example of a values-based
organization that honors the beliefs of its founder,
Cavett Robert, CSP, CPAE. In fact, The Spirit of
Cavett is discussed and celebrated every time NSA
members gather. Just listen.
“We’re working to build a bigger pie.”
“I’ve never been part of an association where
members are so willing to help each other.”
“Our Chapter is going to try something new.
Would you be willing to volunteer?”
“I have a client who needs expertise like yours.
Is it OK if I give them your name?”
Guests are often bewildered when they hear
comments like these. “I’ve never,” they say,
“experienced a group like this before. Everyone’s
so willing to help.” “Caring and sharing,” long-
time members will reply, often not even knowing
they’re quoting Cavett. These beliefs are embed-
ded in our Association’s DNA.
