Coming from a broad business background, I found it far easier to try to be good at all things than
a true master of one. With an undergraduate degree in accounting and finance
and a MBA with a focus on marketing and
management backed by ownership in two
family businesses, I was holding a firehose
set to a wide spray. The reality is that a
fine stream of water can cut a diamond,
and that is the power I needed to harness.
It took almost 10 years to figure this out.
My business model today is based on
going very narrow and deep in my topic.
I go broader in application working with
different sized organizations in a wide
range of industries.
Leadership, to me, can be a broad
label. I help people and organizations “be
better.” It took me a decade to realize that
accountability is at the very core of that.
For the past 15 years, accountability and
the Accountable Leader™ have been my
focus. I conduct original research, create
measurement tools, and work with clients
to apply our findings and achieve real
results inside their organizations. Being

for my keynotes.
What I have discovered is that the narrower I focus, the deeper I am able to drill.
This positions me to be able to discover,
understand, and teach the real cause-and-effect relationships in accountability,
leadership, engagement, culture, productivity, and organizational profitability.
Currently my company’s mix is 60
percent keynote, 30 percent development/
consulting, and 10 percent product sales.
Our next step is to take our systems and
tools and license them to extend our reach
and effectiveness, grow product sales, and
create renewable revenue streams.
