Speaker
When I walked into my first Asia Professional Speakers Singapore (APSS) meeting in 2005, little did I know that over the next few years my world
would change. It’s hard to put into words the many benefits I
have gained since then. But undoubtedly the biggest blessing
has been gaining not only a local tribe, but a global tribe.
As a member of NSA, you, too, have access to this global
tribe—a huge network of like-minded professionals. NSA
is one of 14 member associations that are part of the Global
Speakers Federation. This gives you an amazing opportunity
to build relationships that could change your world.
In my article on page 14, you’ll find out why I’m so passionate about spreading the word about the magic of collaboration. You’ll also
see examples of how speakers around the world are embracing the “
collaboration not competition” mindset, both locally and internationally.
As GSF president, I’m very keen to encourage association members to
look for di;erent ways to collaborate. As I visit our various conventions, I am
asking members to share their collaboration commitments, successes, and
challenges on a new Facebook group, known as the GSF Collaboration Collective
( facebook.com/groups/gsfcollaboration).
We can all play our part to keep the “Spirit of Cavett” alive. NSA Founder
Cavett Robert, CSP, CPAE, dreamed of a world where people can share, grow,
and nurture each other. With our global community growing, each one of
us has an opportunity to support this vision. Please join us and share your
stories to inspire and encourage others.
Let’s remember Cavett’s words: “As speakers, let’s not fight over a piece of
the pie. Let’s work together to build a bigger pie.”
